PKMetal Too often, epic metal means "three chords and a sword," the musical equivalent of a 100-page fantasy novel containing nothing but battle scenes. No, sir, this is what epic sounds like.

Our kingdom bowed in agony, Throne lost to vilest perfidy; Am I the only one to see the storm to come? The tyrant builds his towers high, But sees them crumble every night Something resists him from inside Cymru’s earth The very soil cries out to be free From the depths I hear the serpents waking… Dragons in my dreams, Their blazing screams Stir something deep within me now I dream a king will soon arise Before these tired eyes, And on that day the red dragon will fly! His wise men say to take my blood, That I brought his towers down to mud, But I have seen what stirs below the crumbling walls I tell them of a pit below Where dwell the secrets to their woe, One look and then they’ll know just why their towers fall They crack the ground, and smoke starts to rise, And from the depths I see the serpents rising! Dragons in my dreams, Their blazing screams Stir something deep within me now I know a king will soon arise Before these tired eyes, And on that day the red dragon will fly! The beasts emerge from the ground Wreathed in flame, A blur of tooth and wing and claw Rising high above us all, With no sign of who will fall Until the crimson drake brings forth His alabaster foe’s blood And so the white dragon falls, A clarion call To rise beneath Pendragon’s banner Dragons in my dreams, Their blazing screams Stir something deep within this land Pendragon’s reign will soon arise And light these tired eyes And on that day the red dragon will fly!

The Fall 04:55
How like the rising sun was I before I first cast off Thy endless love forevermore? My glory brought me naught but greater falls and cost me You, my Lord, and Paradise’s halls My cursed ambition like a fire consumed what good You placed in me To serve You more I could not bear, so I became Your enemy All hope of recompense flies from my grasp, for even if I turn from this infernal path A ruler’s pride still burns within my veins; submission more, I could not bear, in praising You or iron chains! My cursed ambition like a fire still burns what good You placed in me To serve You more I cannot bear, So I remain Your enemy I cannot change, nor forfeit Hell for all of Heaven’s ecstasies And pride and power as vast as mine cannot submit to slavery So farewell hope, and farewell fear, destroy now what my Lord holds dear Evil come, consume me now; The Adversary I will be! My cursed ambition like a fire consumed what good You placed in me To serve You more I cannot bear, So I remain Your enemy
